Abby Faith Cheeseman, a freshman at The Webb School in Tennessee, placed 31st overall at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego. Cheeseman, one of three ninth-graders to qualify for the girls national final, covered the 5-kilometer course in 18:22.7. She also became only the third freshman female athlete from Tennessee to compete in the Kinney/Foot Locker/Eastbay girls championship race, joining Jenna Hutchins of Science Hill in 2018 and Kathy Kroeger of Independence in 2005.
